Be Your Own Dentist! Here Are Tricks To Remove Tartar Buildup At Home

Tartar is a form of hardened dental plaque on the teeth which can result in periodontitis if left untreated. The usual treatment for the problem includes a visit to your dentist, but you should know that there is a simple way to remove tartar safely at home.

Here’s what you need for the procedure:

  • Toothbrush
  • A cup
  • Dental pick
  • Antiseptic mouth wash
  • Baking soda
  • Salt
  • Water
  • Hydrogen peroxide

Instructions

Mix a tablespoon of baking soda with half a teaspoon of salt in a bowl, then dip a wet toothbrush in the mixture and rub it on your teeth. Continue with the process for 5 minutes. Next, fill a cup with hydrogen peroxide and mix it with half a cup of warm water then rinse your mouth with the solution and spit it out in the end. Rinse with half a cup of cold water afterwards.

Now, rub the yellow tartar on your teeth carefully with a dental pick, then rinse your mouth with an antiseptic mouth wash. Repeat the procedure every couple of days for best results.

Follow these tips if you want to have a beautiful smile.

Strawberries and tomatoes

Both strawberries and tomatoes are rich in essential nutrients such as vitamin C which is great for your oral health. Rub the fruits on your teeth and let them work for 5 minutes and they will make the tartar easier to remove. In the end, rinse your mouth with baking soda. The procedure can also be done with other vitamin C-rich foods such as lemon, bell peppers, berries, lime, oranges and papaya.

Cheese

Consuming some Swiss cheese right before meals will neutralize the acids that cause plaque buildup on your teeth.

In order to protect your teeth from tartar, you should also brush and floss regularly. Consume spicy food in order to boost saliva production, which cleans the mouth naturally, and rub some orange peel on your teeth right before going to bed to eliminate bacteria in the oral cavity.
